After numbers were drawn
to determine the order of
competing, rules of the
contest were explained by
T. B. Elliott, district
F. F. A. supervisor.
At the beginning of each
demonstration the presi
ding officer drew a card
containing four items of
business to be disposed of
by his team. The president
then read the subject, ex
plained the requirements

first by the judging com
mittee, consisting of the
advisors of the competing
chapters.
Repair and construction
v/ork has consumed most of
the shop hours of the Bai
ley Future Farmers for the
past few weeks.
To gain skill and prac
tice in woodwork, the ag-,
boys have made radio ta
bles, what-nots, tooth
brush holders, chicken
brooders, hog feeders, and
numerous other useful arti
cles.
V/orking with the assort
ment of power tools and
hand tools available in
the shop gains for the
classes experience, and at
the same tina serves as an
opportunity to practice
safety measures constantly.
VETERANS CRGANI7£ AMERICAN LEGION
During the first meeting
of the Bailey Chapter of
the iLTierican Legion held
in the agriculture build
ing February 25, fifty mem
bers were enrolled.
Commander Whitley, Mr.
Vance Morgan, Mr. Adkins,
and Mr. Boyd from the T/il-
son chapter were present
at the m.seting to help
with the organization.
