Wacho^''ia Bank claims Joyce Williaras Murray and Lois Thigpen. Shirley Creech has applied for vjork there, Coleen Murray and Gene vieve Glover choso Tho First Citizen Bank as their working center. Barbara Lamm decided that Scars and Roebuck was a business firm worthy of anyone's interest. Jean Barnes works in the Revenue Building, Bertha Bass and Pansy Rao Murray, liking to chat, chose to work with the telephone people. Bertha is in Raleigh and Pansy is in Norfolk, Virginia, Geraldine Strickland is now in Raleigh looking for a job. SECOND CHOICE Wilson is second choice for the workers. Junior Bass is foreman of the Blending Company, William Lamm works as a carpenter, and Joyce D. Manning is a clerk at HcClollan, Working at tho Rock Quar ry, near Bailey, is Ronald Bissette, T^aiiiar Finch is id.th the DuPont plant in Kinston. Housewives out of the ex senior class are Jackie B. Bunn, Pennettic W. Bis- sotte, Barbara R. Phillips, Shirley B. Cummings, Fran ces C. Scott,and Mrs. Thur man Fiirmcr. Corn. Dept. Purchases Adding Machine Added to tho commercial department this year is a now ten-key Victor Custom electric adding machine. "Special training in tho use of the machine will bo given to typing II stu dents, and bookkeeping stu dents mil find the ma chine a help while working on their practicc sets," was tho opinion stated by Mrs. L. T. Lassiter, in structor. Ten of last year's senior girls v:ork there and five from tho year before, I could go right on back for years and years and tell of the number of students who aro making Raleigh their homo. Daily, a number of people who livo in Bailey drive to Raleigh to work but come back home at night, Raleigh, apparently, is an enticing place., Shelby Eatmon stead of typewriters. The oldest machine in the de partment v/as purchased no later than 19itfi. To develop sld.ll in the use of the machine so as to graduate botter-traincd students is the purpose of the machinc, Mrs. Lassiter added.
