The first "beginning” of the Bugle was under the guidance of TRAVIS JERNI- GaN, who was in Washington D.C. when last heard from. In the school year of 'UO 'Ul SIDNEY JONES was edi tor of the Bugle. Since leaving Bailey High he has served in the Navy,attend ed Tulane University, and is at present working in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. MARIE MORGAN, now Mrs. John Boland Simms, is a graduate of Duke Universi ty. She lives in Ocean Side, California^ and has two children,Kenneth, age fiv6jand Cathleen, age two. Her husband is a captain in the Marines. Living in Goldsboro is SARAH M. FARMER SMITH,for mer editor of 'It2-'U3. She has one child. FLORENCE FOYNER HODGES, editor for has ield several.office Jobs in Raleigh where she now lives. She is married and works at Hobby’s Transfer Co. Immediately after gradu ation MARGARET BROWN began working with the FBI in Washington, where sho still holds a position. Editing the Bugle in 'hS- »U6 was BETTY D. SAUNDERS, who attended East Carolina College. She now commutes daily to her teaching 30b at Burin High School. In 'U6-'U7 BETH BISSETIE led the Bugle staff. She attended A. C. College, choosing teaching as a career. She began her first teaching at South Edgecombe High School in Pinetops and returned there this year. Wedding bells will be ringing for her December 20. EVELYN POOLE is the only ex-editor who still uses the training received from working on the Bugle, After graduating at Duke University, she began teaching at Martinsville^ Virginia^and has a class in journalism in the high school there. The second made editor was BOBBY LAMM. In »50-«5l he led the Bugle staff through the school year. He is married and lives in Raleigh, where he works as manager of the producing department in the Tip Top Food Stores. Co-editors for ’5l-'52 were LA RUE WINSTEAD and LOIS THIGPEN. La Rue worked for awhile in Raleigh and then decided married life was best. Lois now holds a position at Wachovia Rfllp-igh^ Bank in M/iRY ANN EDWARDS, last year's editor is now at tending A.C.
