high schaol., 19.
There was a doll/ii- giveii
to the student that
brought in the most mem
bers, Betsy May won the
dollar by bringing in 21
of Mrs. Glover's 35 mem
bers. Mary Elizabeth
Glover was runner-up by
bringing in 17 of Mr3,T,C.
May's 35 members.
Although Mrs, Glover's
and Mrs, May's rooms tied
for the number of merr±»ers
enrolled, Mrs. May's last
three members were brought
in by a student a:'riving
late after the drive had
closed and Mrs. Glover's
room had been designated
as winner.
Topping the list this t,e-
tnester with an enrollment
of seventy-two, the 9tli
grade is the largest class
yet to enter Bailey High,
Runner-up for second high
is the 10th grade with 57.
The 39 seniors of this
year's class establish a
new high for prospective
graduates.
The school this year has
19 more students enrolled
than last. 1953's number
was 539; this year's, 558.
In the lead are the girls
who outnumber the boys by
10,
The lowest enrollment, 36,
is in the iith grade.
Tying in the grades are
the first and third, each
UU, and second and sixth,
each U5.

line" the seniors will be
performing as young actors
and actresses for the last
time here in Bailey. They
will present their play
November 5,
Miss 'Idalia Oglesby,
sponsor foi' the senior
class, will coach this
three-act play, a mystery.
