High school beauty queens will compete for the Miss America title. The couple in the grammar grades with the most votes ■will be crowned King and Queen of Halloween. From the first grade through the eighth the''students competing in this contest are Catherine Williams and Robby Meacomes, Sandra Brown and Graham Farmer, Betsy May and Phill Phill- (See CONTESTS page 1?) hj.5.Misses Goal Through-out the school, last month's daily atten dance was- 516. In the elementary grades there was an average of 323 present each day; in high school, an'average of 193 present. The high school missed by seven its 200 average daily attendance needed the first seven months to gain an additional teacher. Tonight the PTA finance committee is offering "all an opportunity to enjoy a night of fun in the spirit of Halloween." At 7:30 the program in the auditorium will open. This orogram will be divid ed into two sections. First will come the crown ing of the Halloween Queen and King of the grammar grades. This will be fol lowed by The Miss America Contest of high school beauty queens. The enter tainment phase of both di visions will be directed by Itrs. Helen ?Airray. Be tween times there will be cake walks, ADMISSION Admission to the auditori um will be ten cents through the eighth grade and twenty cents for every one else. The carnival portion will be staged in the gymnasium with the usual booths and stands. For variety the Tunnel of Love and the Nov elty Shop have been added. The committee in oharge of the carnival is compos ed of all the teachers with Mrs. M, V/. leaver act ing as chairman. The funds from tonight?s. "fun and spooks" will bf, used to beautify the school grounds.
