Forjudging
For the first time since
the Bugle submitted copies
to be judged by the Colum
bia Scholastic Press, Asso
ciation, this ' year's
Christmas issue will not
be included.
The deadline for submit
ting papers, according to
the Association, has been
moved up to December 10 in
order to give the people
that grade the papers more
time.
The staff regretted this
news because, in their
opinion, the Christmas is
sue is "usually the best."

This class has an enroll
ment of Ul. There were UO
absences the first month,
or a 96% average daily
attendance. In chapel the
principal commended the
class for its record.
During the second and
third months the juniors
had absences, or re
cord for each month.
The class plans to tiy to
keep this attendance re-
coixi for th’e entird year.

January 3 marks the open
ing of the 1955 Inarch of
Dimes campaign throughout
the country. As everyone
knows, the money contrib
uted will be used in dimin
ishing the "dreaded dis
ease of polio."
Polio strikes both old
and young. However, statis
tics prove that four out
of eveiy five stricken are
young people.
The young people are real
izing that this is very
much their battle. Ifeny
are forming a Teens A-
gainst Polio drive in
their communities,. In this
organization they are rais
ing money ty means of spon
soring parties, sports

The March of Dimes organ
ization is now not only
helping the already strick
en but using its money for
research in the Salk vac
cine, gamma globulin, to
prevent others from having
it.

est polio year on record
with almost U0,000 cases
reported. Contributions
will help to allay its
spread it is believed, for
it will enable further
study.
Milk Available
At Reduced Price
Students may now purchase
extra" half pints of milk
for three cents; teachers,
seven cents.
Sponsoring the iriovement
on a nation wide basis,
the National Sclhool 'Pro
gram hopes to increase the
(Consumption of milk, "the
perfect food."
The local School Lunch
Program v:ill be reimbursed
four ccnts per carton.
Grades may get milk dur
ing morning recess; high
school students, at lunch
period and before school,
if they wish.
