While inspecting the Duilding, State Board of Health employee, W, B, Tay lor, found Bailey’s dress ing rooms and showers to oe inadequate, LOSS OF POINTS Dirty walls, windows and the lack of neatness in the bathrooms were some of the factors contributing to the loss of several building points. The condition of the walls and floors of the storage room costs the cjchool an additional 15 points. ■ Lighting, ventilation, water supply, and the drinking fountains all scored high. The grounds were found in "excellent shape". The school gives the janitors the credit for this grade, "Trouble, like the hill a- head, straightens out when you advance upon it. SUPERVISOR SPEAKS AT PTA MEETING Mrs, Mildred Hinton, ele mentary supervisor of Nash County schools, was the speaker at the monthly PTA meeting. In her talk about excep tional children, Mrs, Hin ton dealt with three pro posed questions for consid eration: Who are the excep tional children? What are the needs of exceptional children? After asking each question, she pro posed definite procedures by answering^ What can the schools do for excepiional children? Using students from Nash ville school. Dr, Holmes gave a demonstration on the use of phonics, a sub ject which fonns a foun dation for reading and spelling and a back ground for other subjects.
