activities, the Bailey
chapter held its first
meeting at Parker’s in
Wilson,

supper voted to ’attend the
State Fair and hold initi
ation exercises on Septem
ber 26, 1958. A new skill
saw was also decided upon
for use in the school shop,

fathers at the annual Fa-
ther-Son Banquet held in
the school cafeteria.
Approximately 123 lathers,
sons, and guests feasted
over barbecue with all the
trimmings, served by FHA
girls."The Chapter wishes
to thank very much the
girls who served them and
helped out on the banquet,"

During the year, the
Bailey FFA chapter has had
an active part in four
county-wide contests—crop
•judging, tool indentifica-
tion, land judging, and
cattle judging.
Members participating in
the crop judging event in
November were James Eatmon,
Eddie Joe Pitts, Buck
Brown, and Freddy Howell,
Tool identification is
limited to freshman and
sophomore bojs and each
chapter must choose by
elimination its represen
tative team. This year's
groap consisted of "Shorty"
Wells, Gerald Finch, Eddie
Ray Creech, and Bill Boy-
Kin,
Federation teams met in
Spring Hope in March were
the land judging contest
was held. Bailey boys who
earned third’ place for the
chapter were James Eatmon,
Dick Dew, Cloyce Bunn, and
Freddy Howell,

Dairy, Beef Cattle, and
Swine teams each walked
away with FIRST place in a
Federation contest as Leg

Purposes for the two fund
raisings were to help buy
FFA jackets for the offic
ers and, to augment the
general fund for operating
