Thursday, April 21 Idle Chatter GOLDSBORO HI NEWS She walked and walked. The road seemed endless but at last she could see a large golden gate ahead of her. “This must be it,” she thought. "Boy, if the gang could only see me now. They thought I’d never make it. I'll bet.” She wondered if she should knock. Might as well—got to get in somehow—can’t stay out here forever. >She lifted the great knocker and let it fall back. The air was filled with the sound of chimes. A tail man with a long white beard, wearing a white robe, opened the gate. “Yes?” he said. She had to hold her head back to look at him. “J.—I’m new here.
