Those from the Senior class were: Peggy Ann West, Patsy Donnell, Bennette Daughtry, Jim my Purser, 'Bill Hawley, and Vic tor Herring. Juniors were: Anne Butler, Florence Bowden, Peggy Ann Britt, Karl Albert, Ashton Grif fin, and Eddie Mitchell. Ethel Parks, pi'esident of the local N.H.S., presided at the candlelight ceremony. Jeiry San ford enacted the role of Torch Bearer and Joyce Bagley wa.s Guardian of the Emblem. Lead ership, Scholarship, Character and Service, the traits, upon which membership into tlie N.H.S. is based, were represented by Betty Best, Frances Hollo well, Lucille Williams and Merle Rosser. Each girl was die.ssed in white and wore a regalia over the shoulder upon which was vi'ritten the quality .she repre sented. was provided by Miss Margaret Denmark who sang “This is My Task” and “I Would Be True”. “Stout-Hearted Men" was sung by a group of male voices. The program was carried out by members taken into the So ciety at previous meetings. These were Lewis Bryan, Dana James Gulley, Bill Winslow, Troy Pate, Jerry, Sanford, Ethel Parks, Betty Denmark, Joyce Bagley, and Shirley Haynes. The membership oath was ad ministered the new members 'i»y Betty Denmark, vice-president. Mr. Eugene Roberts pro nounced the benediction.
