Donald Sauls New President D.E. Club Donald Sauls was elected presi dent of the DE club for the year 1951-52, at a meeting held in the Porthole, Monday, October 15. Others elected are: Eugene Lynch, vice president; Catherine Raper, recording secretary; Mary Culbreth, corresponding secre tary; Betty Rose Marron, histor ian; Mary Buckalew, editor-ln- promotion; William Smith, parlia mentarian; Jimmy Stewart, treas urer; and Miss Frances Bayne, co-ordinator. I P & W. SERVICE STATION PHONE—2359 Special Bulletin Boards Installed Goldsboro high school has re ceived three new bulletin boards. These boards were ordered last year at the cost of ten dollars each, which the S.A. paid. The new boards will be placed at po sitions in the halls where they can be seen by the largest number of students. One of the boards will be used to inform seniors of important matters concerning them. This board will be for the use of the seniors only. These three new boards will be placed in the halls with the two old ones. Tljere is the greatest satisfac tion in doing the things thaf .sfre most honorable. Carr And Rouse New Band Officers Johnny Carr and Billy Rouse head the slate of GHS band offi cers this year. They serve with the ranks of Captain and First Lieutenant respectively. Serving with them are Second Lieutenants Jimmy Daughtry, Lawrence Gurley, and LaVerne Klienert. The officers are appointed by Mr. John Thompson, band direct or. Faith Is Theme Of Community Talk “Live Thy Faith” was the theme of a program given on World Community Day at the First Bap tist church, Friday, November 2. Special music was presented by the Goldsboro High School Glee Club. 'Their selection was “Jesus, Holy Spirit.” The speakers were Miss Vann Doorslaer and Karl-Heinz Wittke. Miss Doorslaer, an exchange stu dent from Belgium, is a student at Campbell College. Karl-Heinz is an exchange student from Ger many and a student at Goldsboro High School. Also on the program were reports of a Winston-Salem Conference for Negro women. These were given by Obelia Sil vers and Ardonia Pettaway. The presentation of gifts took place and the offerings of money and blankets were sent to Korea. Airs. Carroll Bryan presided ov er the meeting.
