Since 1948 the trophy, a sjimbo] of good sportsmanship, teamivvork .and fair play, has bsen presented by Sidney Blumenthal & Co. Inc., to the winner of the Rocky I\/rc'a'nt-Wilson football classic each year. Birds won the fcjr-foot plus tro phy for the first time in 1950 and kept their winning streak up thro ugh ’53. The fifth and last time they won it was in ’55. Cycs won it for the first two years, 1948 and ’49. They also won it in ’54, ’56 and this year. Bird defense was not equal to the nigged Dui’ham defense that saw them score twice in the first quarter, once in the second, and cncie in the third. Durham broke away for long gains of 84, 41, 35, and 25 yards. Raleigh Wins Raleigh defeated the Birds 9-0 at Municipal Stadium, here No vember 8.
