PAGE SIX THE BLACKBIRD, ROCKY MOTTNT RRNIOR HTCH SCHOOL /JCUniNGfooL WITH CARLTON EDWARDS SENIOR THEMES The last six weeks was a hectic time for many weary, sore-eyed senior s as they “burned the midnight oil” writing senior themes. But for many students “agony” is just beginning. Sub jects such as “Reincarnation”, “Development of a Salamander” “Alcohol”, and “History of the Civil War” are some usual titles. But many students, or should I say deep thinking students prefer such subjects as “Deism”, “Existentialism”, and “Matter and Anti-Matter”. Teachers can expect many more unusual topics throughout the year. TWO JIM’S? THE BLACKBIRD receives many exchange papers from other schools and In one from Wllliam- ston High School it was discov ered that they have enrolled in their school a Jim McChesney with many of the same honors an d attributes as our own Jim McChesney. Miss Lunsford made the follow ing comment about the field trip; “I believe that field trips are helpful to students because they provide a change from the rout ine of regular class work. The students actually see what has been discussed In class.” Many students had interesting comments to make concerning the trip. Judy Maurer said that she really enjoyed the tour, but the part she enjoyed most was when Betty Grant almost fell into a water filter.
