Little Smokers kept on tempting fate, One developed heart disease, and then there were eight. Little Smokers, deadline was eleven; Lung cancer took one of them, and then there were seven. 7 Little Smokers, talking just for kicks, One had a “smoker’s cough,” and then there were six. 6 Little Smokers, still full of pep and drive Emphysema slowed one down, and then there were five. 5 Little Smokers, with orders by the score. One was hit by ulcers, and then there were four. 4Li^le Smokers, and time was all too free. TB sidelmed one, 3.nd thon there were three. 3 Little Smokers, with bedtime overdue. One caused a fire, and then there were two. 2 Little Smokers, Alumni Days were fun, One had trouble breathing and then there was one. As part of being Kiwanis Boy, John was given the honor of attending the Kiwanis luncheons each Thursday during the month of January. John says that the meetings are very informal and very enjoyable. He also says he has learned a lot from them, especially concerning Rocky Mount’s municipal organization and projects. John is presently serving as chairman of the Publications Committee. He and his commit tee are in charge of printing and ddistributing the Student Directory, Thank-You-Grams, and Student Handbooks. John is required to inform the Student Organization Assembly of the contents of any brochures or Almand's Drugs 130 S. He attends the Church of the Good Shepherd, where he teaches a Sunday School class, and is president of the church’s youth organization, the Episcopal Young Church men. Although he has very little 'time ^for hoibbies, John enjoys studying his family’s aquariums, telling his friends’ futures from his Ouija Board, and “babysit ting” and “chauffeuring” his younger brothers. John siays he really has no favorite subject, but perhaps enjoys Pirench more than his Students Of I.C.T. Form A New Club In RMSH: VIC A The newest club in the organ ization of RMSH is VICA. The letters of the word VICA stand for Vocational Industrial Clubs of America. VICA is a national organization for all high school students taking courses in In dustrial Cooperative Training (ICT). Although VICA was organized in Rocky Mount only this year, it has already become well- known. 'The club’s most wide spread recognition came when its float won first place in the annual Homecoming Panade. A regional VICA convention met in New Bern, North Caro lina in October. Three Rocky Mount ICT students, Michael Kea, Benjy BuUuck, and Donald Joyner, attended the meetings, which were held October 22 in the New Bern High School Au ditorium, and lasted from 9:30 ■a. m. to 12:30 p. m. Two of them were nominated for re gional offices; Michael Kea ran for president, and Donald Joy ner ran for reporter from the Sixth Region. The VICA members have re quested that the following peo ple be thanked for the helip which they gave to making their Homecoming Parade entry a success: Gay-Yost Funeral Home, Ward Sutton, Michael Kea, Mike CoUtas, and David Price. other classes. North Carolina State Univer sity wiU be John’s home next year, where he plans to study textiles, in hopes of returning to work in Rocky Mount in the future.
