You should see It coming each day until a night of warm wind would bring it suddenly, and when you woJce it was there. At first you were afraid because the cold rains might come in the night and KUl It, and you were relieved when the winter finally left. You could always teil the real fP*’™g from the false ones. They with their warmth and beauty and when tehy left hn^ ^ard, and urt. You always fcn«w when they were real, though, because tlie sky was blue again and the clouds were white, and when it aaned the rain was warm and gentle and oame while you were f® eep. The sun, dried the water from the streefe and the sides of houses in hte early morning and Jeft the air fresh. You got up and dressed and because you were poor you tried to pretend you were not hungry. You put a sketch pad in your pocket and a pencH and went into the street. Because you were hun gry you tried not to go past the restaurants and places which sold things to eat You couW stay in the Luxembourg gardens until the hunger pass ed and it was always a good place to go when you could If you knew, oh, if you only knew! We books really have a mixed-up tangled life. The way you people toss us around, one would think we aren’t worth a Contmental. Steudents shove us into lookers, slam the door, and off they go. Wte are forgotten until the next day. We are Be Presented Ai March Assembly The Senior Class of RMSH will present a special talent show assembly on Friday. March 20. It wiU be a weU- rounded i^ow of senior talent. The auditions for .the show were tield Monday night, February 20. The senior talent show com mittee consisting of Roger Stan- oil, chairman, Scott Ryals, Joan Meeks,^ Barbara Overman, sometimes given the priviledge M residing m an empty-ladded desk but life could still be bet- ter Just think. .. a night in a that. You came out on the bleak, deserted part of the river and if you were eyeful not to look across to the other bank to where the cafes were, you could follow the woodseUers path all the way to the Luxembourg. Tliere is a place in the park where the river turns sharply ^ the elm trees hang over the bai±. It is a good place to iish and each morning the old men who did not work any more and had pensions would be on the pier under the elm trees. 'Hhe river was to muddy to fish in the spring, but the Old men came anyway. Maybe they had no other place to go. So it was in the spring, and f^aris was the spring.
