Senior Receives Rotarian Grant On Monday, May 12, ail the Rotary Girls and Boys of eatfh month of the sdiool year were invited to meet with the Ro- tairy Club, iand tlie day proved to be especially teppy for Sherry Brabham. Exoitment was, evident as Miss Kitohin was introduced to announce the winner of the $300 Rotary Scholarship Award. She immediately nam ed Sherry 'and convinced the Rotary C3ub memibers of the wisdom of the decision by giv ing a. long list of Sherry’s ac- complisliments. For once. Sherry was at a loiss for words. Iloiary Girl Slierry was Rotary Girl for tlie month of December. Everyone knows and loves this vivacious blond. The student body expressed this feeling by cle^ng her an Outsitaoxiing Senior. Additionally, slie was ciioscn Recorder of the Stu dent Involvement Committee. She likes practically every thing that doesn’t bite, but es pecially loves roses, pansies, chocoate, lemons, and boiled peanuts. Quite a variety! But we musn’t forget her trout fishing! Even if slie doesn’t oatch anytliiiig, it’s still hcf favorite sport. An active church member, Sherry serves as an interpre- tor for the deaf at fclie First Baptist Church, and plans to devote iier life’s work to iielp- ing the deaf. Brenda will receive a letter of congratulations in Awards As sembly June 4. Tile money will be forwarded to Hard- barger Business College in Ra leigh as part of the payment for Brenda’s tuition. Brenda plans to become an airline re- servationist. The Service Club Scholar ship is given every year to some deserving senior.
