PAGE 4 THE GRYPHON WEDNESDAY, MARCH 21, 1973 P. E. Classes Busy In Variety Of Sports If a person chose to go in the gym during 5th period, he would see a variety of things going on, Mr. Chesson’s students have an opportunity of choosing be tween three things. They can either play basketball, volley ball, or take a challenge at weightlifting. Not many of the guys wanted to accept the chal lenge, because over half of them were on the floor playing basketball. Maybe they think they are already physically fit. Who knows? Mrs, Pryor’s young ladies are in gymnastics. Two piias- es to be covered under gymna stics are the parallel bars and the side horse. Since the pa rallel bars were not in reach, the girls will spend three love ly weeks on the side horse. Some of the stunts to be performed are the squat stand, straddle vault, scissors, and arm stand. The names should simple eno ugh, but when a person looks at the girls perform, it is a whole different story. After gymnas tics, Mrs. Pryor's class will attempt the game of volleybalL After three weeks on the side horse, a person can be sure that Mrs. Pryor’s girls will play the t^me of volleyball like it has never been played before. Miss Story’s class is having a lot of fun with ping-pong. Three ping - pong tables are set up in the hall outside the dressing rooms, and the girls really give it everything they’ve got, maybe even a little more. Ping-pong balls are flying e- verywhere. Miss Story sits back in approval saying to her self, “I think they are getting the hang of it.” After ping- pong, Miss Story’s class will Start shuffleboard. Soon it’s time for the stu dents to dress for the next class. The girls in Miss Sto ry’s class talk about the game, and the girls in Mrs. Pryor’s class talk about their snazzy stunts. As for the guys, they just don’t care. The bell ringp and everyone moves on to 6th period. WANTED — SpriBtars, Pole Vaulters, and High Jump ers for the boy’s track team.
