Sledge During the Hi-Noc-Ar As sembly Friday May 18, the Hi- Noc-Ar Staff revealed their se cret, the dedication. It was no surprise to anyone that the re cipient of this honor was Mrs. Ruth Bell Sledge. A native of Edenton and a gra duate of Meredith College, she has devoted fourteen years of her life to teaching in the pub lic schools of North Carolina. Eleven of those years have been spent here in Rocky Mount Se nior High. In addition to her work as Social Studies teach er, she has found time for a mul titude of extra curricular ac tivities. She has served as class advisor, advisor to the Good Sports Club, and this year was chairman of the Reaccredltatlon Committee. In 1970 she receiv ed the first Human Relations Teacher of the Year Award - a richly deserved honor. She is the devoted mother of three daughters. Her love for God is a paramount interest In her life, and much of her time is spent in the work of the chu rch. Many Teachers Finish Career (Continued from Page 3) active part in church work. He teaches an Adult Men’s Cass, Is on the Board of Deacons, and is a Charter Member of Lakeside Baptist Church. Miss Creech has only been teaching at RMSH since last year, but just about everybody knows her. She will be leav ing RMSH at the end of this sc- hooL She plans to go back to college at either the University of Northern Colorado, Appala chian State University, orUNC- G, She plans to get a Master of Arts Degree in Business Admi nistration. All the students, all mem bers of the faculty and admini stration will sincerely miss all of these teachers after they're gone. About all we can say Is Goodbye, good luck and we hope you enjoyed your stay at RMSH no matter how long or short you were here.
