Juniors are: Denise Ward ^ Mae Lckson. vice president: and Freddie Woods, treasurer. Matkins, vice president. Sophomores are: Barbara Armstrong, secretary: Beth Hutchisson, president. ^ represented in all phases of school life. She hopes to collect a lot of ideas at the workshop she will attend at Mars Hill this Class Officers Elected Class officers for the 1975-76 school year have been chosen to serve the upcoming sophomore, junior and senior classes. Most of them have already begun making plans for a successful year. Sandy Wilgus will serve the senior class as their president, Robin Bass will be vice president, Brenda Reid secretary and. Helen Bowens leasurer. The main job of the first semester senior officers will be to establish a senior privileges committee to assure the seniors of certain rights and special privileges. Robin noted that “It is very important for us to push the money-making project next year to pave the way for the senior activities to take place secMid-semester.” The juniors will be represented next year by Paul Mayberry aS their president, Matkins, vice president; Patti Reeves, secreUry; and Denise Ward, treasurer. Paid has definite plans in mind for choosing the band for the junior-senior first semester next year. He also intends to make sure that he puts forth every possible effort to get all interested juniors involved during the year. Natasha is extremely con cerned about the poor turnout among the juniors for registration and voting. She plans to instigate a campaign to urge them to use their voting rights. She also plans to really push the money-making project so that the juniors will have plenty of money for the junior senior next year. Beth Hutchisson has been elected next year’s sophomore class president; Mae Jackson will be vice president; Barbara Armstrong, secretary; Freddie Woods, treasurer. Beth is an ticipating a very good year at Senior High. “I am really looking forward to serving the sophomore class and to proving that the Class of ’78 will be the best class to ever hit Rocky Mount Senior High!” Beth wants to see to upcoming sophomores are fully summer. With the class officers elected and plans in the making, the 1975-76 school year has actually already begun. Voods, treasurer. Beth IS an- upcoming v DEC A Swings To Hollywood . 1 L ;« Unllvwrmr “Hollywood swinging, Hollywood .swinging!” That’s what the North Carolina DECA students sang on their way to Florida for the Career Development Con ference held May 6-11. The Rocky Mount delegation was composed of Marvin Thorne, Blaine Todd, Walter Evans, Larry Wooten, Gail Phillips, Libby Turner, Thomas Gerlinger, Jimmy Woodcock, and co-ordinator Mrs. Geraldine Hargrove. Blaine Todd participated in the Job' Interview Contest and was recognized as one of eight finalists. Larry Wooten con structed a manual on an area of Distribution. Jim Pearce of Hendersonville, ran for the office of President of the National Association of Durham competed in the Sales Demonstration contest and won first place. Mr Ken Smith, State DECA advisor stated, “The entire North Carolina delegation represented this state per fectly.” The students resided at the Diplomat Hotel in Hollywood, which is famous for being the resting place of President Gerald Ford during his trips to Florida. The delegation left from Raleigh on May 3 by bus. On May 4, they arrived in Orlando, Fla. Before leaving for Hollywood the students and their advisors went sightseeing at Disney World and Sea World. In giving a summary of the conference Walter Evans simply replied, “Hollywood was Swinging.”
