Christmas vacation has
finally arrived, and not a
minute too soon. Eager eyes
have peeked into the hall closets
and under Dad’s bed and found
new rifles, boots, fishing gear,
and other sporting accessories,
making the wait worthwhile.
And now, thirteen days of

An amusing anecdote—A
father took his 10 year old son
with him to a local hunting club.
He left him with a gun and five
buck shot and told hime to shoot
at anything he saw other than
the dogs. A few minutes later,
the father heard five loud blasts
and returned to the place he’d
left his son. When he got there,
he found that his son had shot at
and killed seven pigs with five
shots.

Ingenuity, not variety, is the
spice of life! When nothing
better is available, a tobacco
pipe serves well to call wild
turkeys. To imitate a lost hen,
pucker your lips over the stem
and suck air inward works
amazingly!
Tip for the duck hunter! If you
forget your metalgame carrier
and hate to carry wet, slimy
birds, do not fret! Simply
stretch out the loops of the
plastic holders that hold a six-
pack of beer or soda. Double
each loop and stick the bird’s
head in. The weight of the bird
will pull the loop light.

If you know that your clean
up job will leave your hands
black with grease and oil, and
you don’t want the trouble of
scrubbing them clean, try this:
Saturate your hands with
petroleum jelly before you
begin. When the job is over, the
jelly will be easily removed
with soap and water, along with
the grease and oil.
