[Photo by t. Bulluck] Bradshaw Forecasts Good Season For Softball Team Although the Girl’s Softball team has only five returning players. Coach Judy Bradshaw is optimistic about the season, and states, “We have a good chance of winning the confer ence championship.” Coach Bradshaw, in her first years as softball coach at Senior High, will have to rely on a young team predominately made of sophomores to carry her to a possible conference crown. The team, led by returners Arlenda Harrison, Gail McLean (last year's MVP), Donna Arrington, Marilyn Joy ner, and Denise Ward, will play only two non-conference games before meeting conference competition. But Coach Bradshaw was pleased with the way the schedule was arranged because the team usually has one home and one away game each week, and because the team has a one week break for Campus Styles at MEBANE SHOE COMPANY Downtown, Rocky Mount Easter. After an opening season 11-4 loss to West Edgecombe. Coach Bradshaw pointed out that the girls would have to work on hitting and base-running. 'The first game showed a lot of mistakes that the girls will not be making the rest of the season,” said Bradshaw. But again looking ahead at the season. Bradshaw said. “We have the potential to have a good sol'tball team this vear."
