Rocky Mount and Greenvill« squared off in the type of gam which fans love and coache: hate. For the first four inning: the Gryphs threatened to scon every time; however, the; lacked the timely hits. On th( other end of the bat, senio pitching star Steve Partin wa attempting to attain the epitomi of superb pitching — a perfec game. Partin pitched 5V innings until a bloop singl spelled his demise. At that point the Gryphs lea 1-0, but a walk and an errc allowed Greenville to tie th score. Then Mike Brewingto sent Greenville ahead by drivin a single up'the middle. Ricky Lewis and William Battle left the divisional meet in Greenville successful participants. Lewis placed second in the 180 low hurdles and 120 high hurdles, while Battle placed fourth in the long jump. These marks allowed both of them to go to the sectionals in Cary, where both thin-clads placed second in their respective events. Battle was unable to ad vance to the regionals held at ECU because of an injury, and Lewis, although qualifying in the 180 low hurdles in the preliminaries, did not place. Had they placed, they would have been eligible for state competition at N. C. State in Raleigh. Danny Daniel leaves his mustache to Chris Dell, who might be able to grow one next year. Shawn Sazama, Neal Gagnon, Gerald Daniel, Terry Lawrence, and Danny Daniel leave their bottles, cans, coolers, ice and bottle caps to the whole junior class who will never catch up any how. Danny Daniel will leave his coolness to anyone who can handle it. Gerald Daniel and Neal Gagnon leave Mrs. Armstrong’s English. They never showed up anyhow. Mark Smith and Gerald Daniel leave their fantastic driving records to the driver education department. The Senior Class leaves Hardee’s to the dogs. Mike Collins leaves his height to Chris Balt. Beaulah Battle leaves her natural color to Ruth Battle so she won’t have to lie out in the sun anymore. Robin Bass leaves her brush to Cindy Bailey. Boon McGee leaves his ’61 VW to the class of ’77 because that’s easier than pushing it home. Ronnie King leaves his mustache to Mark Landis because that’s the only way he can get one. Being “big-hearted” Timmy Dutton leaves his skid marks to Rocky Mount Academy. Kelley Hammonds leaves her mouth to Laura Hardy. Paula Dunn leaves her ability to make enemies to anyone trying to lose their last friend. Cindy Parrish leaves her walk to all the unfortunate sophomores whose boyfriends wish they had a swing like that on their back porch. Jeremiah Davis leaves some sense to Monica Knight so she can stop going crazy over men. Cimp Hinton leaves Terry Knight crying. William Battle leaves his heart to Sheila Bynum. Maryanne Browning leaves her “ex perience” to Maude Bishop who really needs it. The T.A.C. members of '76 leave their love to the T.A.C’s of ’77 and ’78. Sheila Pulley leaves “freaked out” jokes to Sharon Locus, her childhood memories lo Angela Elaine Battle, and her Spanish tests to Veronica Yates. Debbie Pippin gives lo Drake Mann her ability to logically and realistically philosophize on things which do not relate lo one another nor have any business being. Debbie Pippin bequeaths to one Tommy Matthews the challenge to find our most valued JEEP which we so inadvertently misplaced in ’74 and ’75. Lisa Arnold leaves her tons of eye makeup to whomever feels they have something to cover up. Teresa Barnes leaves her temper — she never could hold on to it anyway. Beth Battle leaves the lunchroom — a lot quieter. Lee Bennett leaves her notebooks to anyone willing to pay for them. Beth Carrico leaves her wisdom teeth to JAWS. Danny Daniel leaves for Hollywood. Kent Gay leaves his knock-knock jokes to Mr. Abernethy, Terry House leaves her height to next year’s varsity basketball team. Dee Maxwell leaves with her bicycle. Wade Mayberry leaves the Night Photography Crew — at the Academy parking lot. Elizabeth Exum leaves her scatterbrain lo Cindy Gurganus. Judy and Paul leave their corner on the 100 hall lo any one who is not afraid to get caught. Denise Miller leaves her brains and looks lo her little sister, Georgia.
