Photo by S. Clonts Girls Participate In Bricklaying For the first time in the history of Rocky Mount Senior High girls are participating jn” the bricklaying classes. Pam Holland, Nancy Smith son and Tamela Willis are now spending two hours every school day in brUklaying class.' During fifth and sixth period the female bricklayers learn to mix and spread mortar, build brick corners and walls and other masonary skills. Mr. Paul Jenkins, the teacher of the class, said that the girls do everything the boys do and seem to enjoy the class. Tamela Willis commented that she took the class because , it was a course girls usually don’t take. She also said that she enjoyed the class very much. Nancy Smithson and Pam Holland stated that they took ^he class because it was fun and intieresting. They also said that they took the class because there is no homework. Michael Ward and Anthony Waterman agreed that they enjoyed having girls in the class. They also commented that the girls did as good or even better job bricklaying than the boys.
