Bulldogs Suffer
Loss To Comets
The Asheboro Comets beat the
Bulldogs in the second game with
them by a score of 10-9.
Traywick led the hitting for the
Bulldogs by getting three hits for
five times at bat. Ken Smith
was close behind, getting two for
four.
The winning pitcher for the
Comets was Carmichael, and the
losing pitcher for the Bulldogs
was Lawhon.
This left a record of four wins
and six losses.
Railroaders Beat
Bulldogs, 9 to 7
When the Bulldogs played
Spencer for the second time at
Spencer, the Railroaders beat the
Bulldogs 9-7.
Lawhon and Raygene Smith
led the hitting for the Bulldogs.
Raygene hit a home run in the
fifth inning.
The winning pitcher for Spen
cer was Lanning, and the losing
pitcher for Albemarle was Ray
gene Smith,
Tub Russell fractured his jaw
and was put out for the remain
der of the season.
Shaver New Head
Of Honor Society
Robert Shaver was elected as
president of the Honor Society for
the coming year at a called meet
ing last week.
The other officers elected to
assist Robert are as follows: Bill
Huckabee, vice-president; Caro
lyn Williams, secretary; Bernice
Roscoe, treasurer; Martha Rae
Harris, scrapbook chairman;
Frank Burrell, business manager.
Mrs. Nell Westerlund, the spon
sor of the Honor Society, said
that the officers will have a
tough schedule next year, and
she requested that the members
choose capable people who don’t
already hold so many offices.
Albemarle Loses
To Thomasville
The Bulldogs traveled to Thom
asville, only to be beaten by a
score of 11-3.
Larry Chance, who is catching
in Tub Russell’s place, led the
hitting for the Bulldogs by get
ting two for four times at bat.
The winning pitcher for
Thomasville was Ballard, and the
losing pitcher was Lawhon.
This left the Bulldogs a record
of four wins and four losses.
