Bible Club Holds
Monthly Meeting
AHS Bible Club held its March
meeting at the First Presbyterian
Church on March 6.
The topic for the meeting was
‘'What’s Next,” which was a dis

opened to young people. Mr. Sapp
spoke on the Ministry, followed by
Jane Sigmon speaking on church
secretaries, Geddie Strickland on
Missionary work, and Miss Abra-
hamsen on Bible teachers.
During the program Arce Rose
Rich sang “My Heavenly Father
Watches Over Me” and Geddie
Strickland sang “What Shall I
Give Thee, Master”.
After the discussion, reports
were heard from the treasurer
and from the contest to have more
members present at the meetings.
The first edition of the Bible Club
Newspaper was given to the mem
bers.
Eugene Burris, president of the
Bible Club, presided, and Amorelle
Tucker was the accompanist for

Various Projects
Members of the Future Home
makers of America have been
busy working on various proj
ects.
The club members made and
served refreshments when the
Mixed Chorus entertained the
North Carolina Symphony on
February 26.
Refreshments were prepared
also by the group for the Alex
ander Graham ninth grade cho
rus and the AHS ninth grade
chorus after their concert at the
high school.
Approximately 175 people have
been served by the FHA since
Christmas.
At the next meeting Sue Furr
and Opal Eudy, two very active
members of the club, will com
plete the necessary requirements
for FHA pins, which are given
only to those girls contributing
to community and school work
in the specific manner stated by
the constitution of the national
organization. Both girls have
been members of the high school

After the excitement had died
down and all ten thousand tad
poles were born, plans were
made for the new babes. Edshay
Brunson was appointed Godfath
er. But a very serious problem
came up. How could they name
ten thousand tadpoles? Well,
some brilliant mind popped up
with the bright idea to name
them after the alphabet. Of
course it will have to be tised
three hundred and eighty-four
and sixteen twenty-sixths times,
but that seemed the easiest way
out.
Oh, by the way, if you hap
pen to hear music in the biology
lab, it’s only first period teach
ing the tadpoles to sing “Oh,
My Papa” for Franchot.
