Christmas Time Means
Busy Time for Mixed Chorus
Strains of Christmas Music
have been coming from room 84
each afternoon at Fifth period.
The reason for this “rushing the
season” is that the Mixed Chorus
is already hard at work on their
Christmas engagements.
Their first engagement will be
at the Lions Club, December 14,
This will be a short program of
Christmas music.
The big event will be the an
nual Mixed Chorus Christmas
Concert, which will be held Dec
ember 15, in the High School
auditorium.
They will sing several songs
from Handel’s “Messiah” along
with a wide variety of Christ
mas songs.

Youth Counselor
“When you find your heart,
for goodness sake, don’t lose your
head,” was the crux of a talk
made by Mrs. E. H. Ould of Roa
noke, Virginia, to the student
body in assembly November 14.
For the scripture. Hazel Law-
hon read the Twenty-Third
Psalm, and Mrs. Kenneth Brown,
Director of Christian Education
at First Street Methodist Church
introduced Mrs. Ould. She is
recognized as a leader of youth
in the realm of Friendship and
Marriage, Youth and the Chris
tian Home. The students were
held spellbound by her clever
illustrations that she used as she
talked to the group on Boy-Girl
relations and the importance of
building a happy home.
Mrs. Quid was one of the guest
speakers at the Stanly County
Training school at Central Meth
odist Church last week.
