Page 8 THE FULL MOON December, 1955 SPECIAL PROGRAMS ARE SHOWN OVER TELEVISION TO STUDENTS AHS students viewed the first^^ in a series of vocational programs over WCUNC-TV on Monday morning in the auditorium. These programs are narrated by two seniors in Chapel Hill high school, who conduct inter views with specialists in various vocational fields. The interviews are designed to help the student in the classroom choose a career by showing him the advantages to be found in each of many oc cupations. The program viewed Monday was titled “A Pattern for Liv ing.” Other programs to be seen are “A Pattern for Living” on January 9, “Planning for Col lege” on January 16, and “Secre tary-Government Service” on January 23. Idditigs Is Host To Music Group Members of the Modern Music Masters held their November meeting at the J. White Iddings residence on November 29. Among the items discussed was the possibility of holding the M.M.M. state convention at A.H.S. and the organization’s annual Christmas caroling. It was disclosed that the pansy sale, one of the M.M.M.’s money- raising projects, had netted a profit of about thirty dollars. Due to the crowded schedule, the December meeting was post poned until early January, when it will be held at Linda Duke’s home. Stallings Named Most Outstanding Twenty Bibles have been order ed by the Bible Club to be pre sented to the homerooms as Christmas presents. Each month the club selected a “member of the month” to appear in the Bible Club newspaper. Jo Stallings, because of her contribu tion to the club by word and deed was chosen as the outstanding member for November. Vivian Smith, who was the president of the club, has moved to Glassboro, New Jersey. Sue Winn now is president and Eu gene Burris is serving as vice- president. I certainly will try. ^ “The First Christmas Night”, a Christmas Cantata, written by Hayden Morgan, was presented by the Ninth Grade Chorus on two occasions. The North Albemarle Baptists Church was the scene of the first performance, which was given December 4. The chorus also pre sented the same program in as sembly, December 9. Members of the Black Masque and Bible Club assisted the chorus by arranging a living tableaux of the first Christmas night. The chorus, under the direction of Mr. Paul B. Fry and accom panied by Ann Smith, sang the following: “While Shepherds Through The Quiet Night”, “Then God Sent An Angel”, soloists: Kay Pen nington and Johnny Almond. “Shepherds, Why This Jubilee”, “To Bethlehem The Shepherds Ran”, soloists: Woody Durham and Richard Kimrey. “At The Manger”, “The Friendly Beasts”, soloists: Wayne Collins, Ann Morgan, Mickey Lawhorne, Jan ice Morris, and Eddie Davis. “Joseph Dearest, Joseph Mild”, soloists: Jo Parks and Sherrill Williams. “Sleep Of The Child Jesus”, “Say To The World”, and “O Holy Night”. “The Hay Is Deep And Softly Warm” and “Rejoice!
