H. S. students have been taking interesting trips during the last month. Gene Starnes, Lindsay Har wood, Sara Henderson, Nancy Jo Ivester, Martha Huckabee, Vir ginia Huckabee, and Sue Winn went on a World Peace Seminar as representatives from the Cen tral Methodist Church, of which they are all members. Metho dist young people from all over Western North Carolina took the trip. The group went to Washing ton, to New York, and on the trip home they stopped in Philadel phia. Pat Starnes left from Char lotte airport on April 11 for Washington, where she represent ed the local chapter of the D.A.R. as a page at the national con vention. CHIC SHOP Nationally- Advertised READY-TO-WEAR Attend Festival Eight chorus students partici pated in a concert last Friday night, climaxing the State Choral Festival in Greensboro. Students who rehearsed Thurs day and Friday for the program were Gay Crowell, Becky Coble, Judy Redfern, Shelby Thomas, George Harwood, Richard Kim rey, Sammy Holshouser,’ and Charles Brown. Two choruses of five hundred voices each combined for the tele vised concert, which took place in Aycock Auditorium on the Woman’s College campus. Direc tors for these choruses were Mr. Robert Fountain, conductor of the Oberlin College Conserva tory Choir, Oberlin, Ohio, and Dr. George Howerton, dean of the School of Music at Northwestern University, Evanston, Illinois.
