Page 4 THE FULL MOON October 19, 1962 BULLDOG BARKS Athletes Of The Month AL CALDER The Full Moon salutes A1 Calder as one of the Athletes of the Month. He proved himself worthy of this honor as guard for Albemarle gridsters. A1 is active in church and civic programs. His serv ice and club memberships in school activities reveal many qualities of leadership. His experience on the baseball diamond gave AI a great year in pitching, and his aims for this year are good. We are proud to honor Al Calder, a true sports man, as Athlete of the Month. TERRY MORGAN ASHS proudly salutes Terry Morgan as Athlete of the Month for his fine performance on and off the foot ball field. Terry participates in many sports at our school. He belongs to many of the school clubs and is an officer in practically every organization to which he belongs. The school is confident of Terry while he is on or off the field. So, thanks, Terry, keep up the good work! Coaches' Query “We are very impressed with the student body and the boys of the football squad,” was the statement of Coaches Moyer Smith and Jack White. Coach White said that he would like very much to teach a course on life in general. It would cover high school, going to college, and adult life. “Teaching history is a great challenge.” said Coach Smith. When asked what it was like to play against his own team Coach White said he wanted to beat them but felt a tinge of guilt because it was his Alma Mater. Coach Smith agreed readily. Upon returning home, the coaches said that the people of Lexington were proud to find “their little boys had become men.” They were well accepted by everyone they met.
