Classes Debate
Current Issues
Debates are now taking place
in Mr. Merritt's American Prob
lems classes. Recent issues which
have already been debated are the
draft system and unidentified
flying objects.
Each debate consists of two 3-
member panels and a mcxierator.
The negative and affirmative
panels are headed by chairmen
who direct the presentation of
their panel’s opinions. Each mem
ber of the negative and affirma
tive groups is allowed five min
utes to present his argument. Af
ter the views of panel members
have been presented, each one is
allowed a one minute rebuttal
period. Following the rebuttal per

chance to direct questions to either
panel. A vote is then taken to
determine the winner of the de
bate.
Classes other than the American
