TH:: mountain TRA.il AIJGUST 9. 1940 :-s Mr# and Mrs* H, M, Smith left Tuesday to spend several weeks with their son,Sid ney Smith, in Detroit, Mich, Mrs, James Lowe and children, James,«J^r., and Lenora Elizabeth;, returned home last Saturday after a visit vdth her father, L# W, Rice and Mr, and MrsTom Harbison, She was accompanied to Lylosvillo by Mr, and Mrs, Harbison v;ho spent the weeic-end there. Their daughter.^ little Miss Anne Harbison spent the week-end v/ith her grandmother, i\/Irs, T. Go Harbison, Dr, and Mrs, A, R, Harold have as their guests the Misses Jane and Joan Meeker, lovely twin daughters of ivir, James Meeker of Miami. They expect to be here two weeks. Dr, and Mrs, Richard Holton of Sarasota Fla,, are spending a month at the Ashton cottage on Mirror Lake, Mr, and George Strong have as their guest Ivlrs, Carleton Teate, Jr., of Sarasota, Mr, and Mrs, A,E, Stewart of St. Louis, Mo,, are occupying Mrs, Bertha Jones’ cot tage on Cullasaja Drive for August and September. Mr, and Mrs, H, H, Darby of Macon, Ga,, and Harry Darby of Charleston, S, C,, are guests of Mr, and Mrs* A, H, Bankston of Savannah, Ga,, for the month of August at the Blanchard cottage on Cullasaja Drive* Dr. and Mrs, VJarner P. Davis and two children, Helen and Joe, of Lexington,Ky,, arrived Tuesday to spend ten days at their cottage on I'Airror Lake, Their son Billy who has been visiting his grandparents,i'^r. and Mrs, W, S, Davis for the past three weeks will join them at the cottage. Dr, Davis is pastor of the Epworth Methodist church in Lexington, Recent guests of Mrs. Vifalter Roese were her two sisters, Mrs, J. A. Calloway of Asheville and Mrs. Margaret Perry of Augus ta, Ga., and an aunt, Mrs. J, F, Watson, Knoxville, Tenn, Mrs. Robert Dortch and daughters of Little Rock, Ark,, are visiting the form er’s mother, li^s, Roberta Morton, at Pier son Inn, Mrs. P, R. Georgia has returned to her home at Flat Mountain after a visit to Black Mountain College, J!r, Georgia was president of Black Mountain College and Mrs, Georgia a teacher there for three years prior to making their home in Itha ca, N, Y, Herbert Millkey of Atlanta was the weel end guest of Mr, and Mrs, Jack VJilcox at Billy Cabin Farm, Dr, and Mrs, J, R, Cable and son and daughter. Jack and Dorothy, of St, Louis, Mo,, have arrived for a visit at their cottage on Mirror Lake. Dr, Cable has been busy in summer school at Washington University, Harry T, Hall of Richmond, Va,, is spending two weeks here with relatives. His sister, Mrs, Nash Broyles of Atlanta and her grandson, Murray Hamilton, and ^loyd Jones are guests at Highlands iwlanor for the month of August, Mr, Mack Wilson who has been seriously ill in Angelas hospital in Franklin for the past tv/o weeks is reported to be very much improved. New arrivals at the different cottages for the month of August are Ivlr, and Mrs, Henry D, Pollard of Savannah, at the R,L. Aeck cottage; f^rs, S, ‘V'/hitman McGonigal of Sea Island Beach and Atlanta, at the Foreman place; Dr, and Mrs. Julian E, Chisholm and family of Savannah at the Ruggles place at liHiiteside Mountain.
