■'VJiy, lAiho mokGS auch of a niracle?
to £ie I know of no tiling else
but miracles,
V/hother I ^alk the streets of
Manhattan,
Or dart ciy sight over the roofs
of houses tomar^ the sky,
Or \\ade vvith naked feet along the
beach just in the edge of the
lA/ater,
Or stand under trees in the Vyioods,
Or talk by day v:ith anyone I love,
or sleep in the bed at night
Vvith anyone I love,
Or sit at table at dinner ^Aith
the rest^
Or look at strangers opposite ne
riding in the car,
Or ^Aiatch honeybees busy around the
hive of a summer forenoon,
Or animals feeding in the fields,
Or birds, or the wonderfulness of
insects in the air,
Or the wonderfulness of the sun
down, or of the stars shin
ing so quiet and bright,
Or the exquisite delicate curve of
the new moon in spring;
These with the rest, one and all,
are to me miracles,
The whole referring, yet each dis
tinct and in its place.
To me every hour of the night and
dark is a miracle,
Every cubic inch of space is a
miracle,
