The photo grapher came tl'iis week and took all the group pictures of a 11 the high school and tha sightrh grade students, the basketball players, cheerleaders, and the members of the play cast* We have chosen our mascots-. They ■ are Eddie Lee 1/Jhitmire, daugh'cer of Mr, and Mrsc Henry VJhitmire^ ani Boyd McCall, son of Mrr, and rlrSt, Frank McCalle The ■i'-ime finally came for the Seniors to measuvo for their caps and gowns. We were all excited because that reminded us of what will be comming soon, Jean Elmofe Eleventh Grade News The Junior play seems to be comming along pretty well# With lots of practice we think maybe it mil be ready by April third. We have already begun to sell tic-* kets, but have more to sell. We have finally received our class rings. Every one sure is proud of them® We are all glad to have Mildred Tally back in school after a long, serious illness. If everything goes as planned the Junior Senior Banquet will be held on the night of April 2Uth, Everyone seems to be looking forward to it. Mildred Tally Tneth Grade News We, the Sophomores, are already work ing hard toward our Washington trip, vie cleared altogether $11^* along with "the Juniors help. Our grade sold ^>105« worth of tickcts, Betty Jean Crawford sold $76,2? worth for our grade. We are very proud of her* VJe have quite a few boys and girls who played basketball* We are proud of their great shovjing* We had five girls and four boys. We had one Cheerleader Ninth Grade News The ninth grade is planing a trip to Oak Ridge, Tennessee in the Spring. We are collecting dues from each student to pay for the expenses of the trip. We have already collected about v9«00 on the expenses. We are all looking fonward to the trip. We are glad to have Jack Calloway back with us. He has been attending school in Rivera Beach^ Florida, The Social Committee has an Easter Party planned for March 9th grade reporter Wanda Hopper Eighth Grade News The eighth grade took a trip to Franklin to visit the Air Port and Press. Mr. and Mrs, Gillis went with us, VJe left at 10:00 A.M. and got back by the time school was out. We enjoyed it very much, A lot of the girls out of the 8th grade have been enjoying going to Sub— Distric with the church, our class officers for this 6 weeks are: President; Stanly Wilburn Vice-President: Novia Tally Secretary and Tres: Joanne Chastain Joanne Chastain Shirly Baty Seventh Grade News The seventh grade boys are very proud of our victory over the eighth grade boys in basketball. So far we havn*t lost a game. We would like to keep our record that way until school is out. We played the eighth grade Friday, March 13* The first half of the game the «core was 7 to ii in favor of the ei ghth boys.
