all-mysterious Jmior- Sen
ior have slipi>ed out : re-
cojitly. It was noted that
this first prom of West
vrill be one not soon for
gotten. The theme vill be
"Wonderland By Kight" and
very elaborate decorations
are planned. Mr. Green, Jt.
sponsor, has contracted an
exclusive company in New
York which deals ex^jressly
with decorations for soci
ety parties. A crew of
workers from the company
will arrive a few days be
fore the dance to help with
the process of transforming
our gymtoriijm into the pro
posed "wonderland."
The dance is now sched
uled for April 13; but may
be postponed because of
construction on the gym
floor. The gu^st list, be
sides juniors and seniors,
includes sophomores, and
freshmen of West if invited
by a junior or senior. The
junior class is now debat
ing on whether to also
allow students from other
schools to be invited.

Mr. Smith, also a junior
sponsor, has arranged for
the music to be provided by
one of the combos connected

orchestra. Mr. Smith roomod
with one of the members of
this conbo at Carolina.
Miss Brown is in charge
of the refreshments which
will be provided by a cat
erer from the Stork Restau
rant in Charlotte.
Governor Sanford stated
that if we increased school
attendance 5 cent from
the first half of the year,
he would assume 5^ per cent
of Jr. Sr. cost.

ams who was present for
the Westmont Playmakers
performance of his famous
play. The Glass Mena^rie.
The play was put on in the
Mount Gilead School Audi
torium March 23.
Mr. Williams said that
he didn't want his prescncc
at the performance Imown
to the public, for ho was
not looking for publicity.
He viewed the play at the
invitation of Mr. Robert
Greene, director.
"I am planning to open
a sui'jmer playhouse this
summer in the mountains of
North Carolina and to in
vite this same cast up
there to give a performance
early next fall." He said
that the cast did admirable
jobs of covering up, when
they missed lines. He
said when that Cochran
girl missed a line he
thought she would fold up,
but to his surprise she
didn’t. He also Praised
her for excellent expres
sion and her natural act
ing ability.
This interview was end
ed all to abruptly as Mr.
Greene hurriedly led Mr.
Williams from the auditor
ium to escape the surging
crowd.
