November 2] O' Fincher Jarrell, a sen ior here at West,was naroad Montgomery County's repre sentative for a Morehead Scholarship, Tuesday, Nov ember 13, Fincher, who was interviewed Friday night, Nov. 9, reports that the. interview was not at all what he had expected. "I was nervous and,putting it mildly, scared. I'm sure the others were frightenec too, I had expected a very formal meeting with a group of men snapping off Questions at a machine-gun rate! However, the five interviewers immediately put us at ease by assuring us that the interview would be very informal. Each of us were interview ed separtately, I was urged to say what I though on a subject and to add comments to the discussion anytime during the inter view, For those who may be interviewed and who are interested in questions which they might be asked, I will list a few, I was asked why I wanted to go to college; why I had chosen Carolina; why I had chosen law as a profession _§P_d. other questions deal - w kJ I \ iDg with special abilities hobbies, current events, and extracurricular activ ities, I was impressed that these men placed em phasis on a well-rounded personality rather than scholastic averapp..J^» The West Kentgomery Warriors Junior Varsity football squad compiled a record of two wins, one loss, and one tie in four games this season, East-West clashed at East in the opv^ning con test which ended in a 6-6 deadlock, Ralph Reynolds dropped an eight year pass to Jimmy Presslar to pro vide West's touchdown. West forced North Stan- ^ley in two consecutive I outings. The first game, ■before the heme fans, was dropped lt+-19, Reynolds arm again supplied the Warrior thrust. Touchdowns came on passes to Mykie Myrick and Jimmy Presslar, The second North Stanley- West game ended with West at a large 27-6 advantage. Reynolds was again the Warrior mainstay.
