The answer- is an emphatic "no". But consider this. Beliefs are the most valuable property that anyone can own. What do you do if another person expresses an opinion com pletely different from yours? Do you attempt to destroy that opinion? Many do. It matters not whether the beliefs are liberal or conservative. Everyone has the right to possess and express them. No person is always in the major- ity3 and some day may be the "different" We, at the approach of this Thanksgiv ing Season, tend to count all of the blessings that have come our way during the year. Items, such as good healtb, loving parents, clothes to wear and food to eat are likely to be included when we say our Thanksgiving prayers. But, have we at West notforgctten one important feature of our life? We should have a collective thankfulness for all the opportunities that have become ours since the fotmding of West Montgcmery High School. All of us should be grate ful for our teachers, whose patient teaching fills us with knowledge of hu manity and kindn3ss as well as of Histo ry, English, French and other subjects , The loyal players, who make up the teams- basketball, base-ball, foot-ball, or track, —gallantly represent our school through fair play ajid good sportsmanship and carry the spirit of West Montgomery into athletic competition deserve our most sincere thanks. Also, by coming from two communities, has piven us all the unequaled fortune that introduced each student from Troy to each student from Mt. Gilead and made lasting friendships that would not have been realities without the fusion of these schools. STUDENT COUNCIL The Student Council is going tc spon sor a locker clean-up week. Each stu dent is urged to remove trash of all kind from the interior of his locker. The lockers will be inspected by a student council member. Other plans of the coun cil are not disclosed at the present time. Editor’s Note-I believe that tte stu dents of West Montgomery should support th'e Student Council in their efforts to keep West clean.
