There were forty- six colleges represented. Each of the seniors, from Stanly and Montgomery counties .was encouraged to learn as much as possible about the college of his choice. The college repre sentatives were well pre pared with statistics and folders. On December 3, 1962,the seniors of West Montgomery at long last, received proof that they are indeed honored members of the twelfth grade. Their class rings had arrived. Because they came C.O.D., all seniors had to bring their money before - the rings could be distributed. All 75 seniors, at which time received their rings by the end of the day. Opinions cannot survive if one has no chance to fight for them —Thomas Mann In addition to colleges, the commercial, beauty,and nursing institutions, as well as^. the military branches, of the service supplied students with in formation. The program began at twelve-thirty. West Montgomery students arrived somewhat late be cause of difficulty with the activity bus. The Scholastic Aptitude Test for students planning to enter college upon graduation was given Dec ember 1,1962, at Albemarle High School. This test partially de termines whether or not a student is accepted by col leges which require the test. These include most accredited colleges. The test began at 8:30 Saturday and was finished by 12:30, The verbal por tion of the test consisted of vocabulary and reading comprehension. The mathe matical portion consisted of simple math, algebra, geometry, and trigonometry, Our school Christmas program will be held on Friday, December 21, dur ing 6th period. Mr. Doo little is going to direct the chorus in some special selections,after which Mr. White will deliver the Christmas message. The student body will join in the singing of some Christ mas carols at the conclu sion of the program. Mid term exams will be- i gin January 1M-, and end ; January 16. There will be i two exams each day, Monday, January 14,first and thiid period exams will be given. Second and fifth period classes will have exams . Tuesday, January 15. The last two exams,fourth and sixth periods, will be January 16.Regular classes will be held in the after= noon with no exams given then. If you wish to be loved, ‘ love. —Seneca
