The library assistants are ready again to serve the student body during the second semester, DRAMA CLUB The Drcima Club met Thursday, January 31, It is going to present the play Rebel Without ^ Cause. Any one who wishes to, can help with the play. When the books arrive, tryouts will be held. Anyone can audition for a part. The play which will be given in May has a royalty fee of $35,00. Mrs. Leah Levin has planned to help with the production. In the movie. Rebel Without A Cause, the stars Natalie Wood ANNUAL The annual copy is com plete and has been mailed. There is no definite date for the return of the annuals, but they should be ready by the first of April at the latest. The sponsors say every one on the staff has co- oi:;erated well and has done an excellent job with his assignment. It is hoped that the students will be pleased with the book be cause a great amount of hard work and many long hours have gone into its crsdtion. FUTURE TEACHERS The Future Teachers of America met on December 13, 1962,in the projection rcom. Miss Thomas talked on North Carolina Teacher Sch^'larship Loans, Dis ability Loans, and other available loans. She discussed v7ho is eligible for these scholarships and how they can be acquired. The Future Teachers of America plans to help with Day in March. Bm .CLUB The project committee of the Beta Club is considtr- in.,~ several projects for VJest, Some ofthe projects ccTisidered are covering the gym floor for dances, a sign for the entrance of West Montgomery, a small scholarship for someone at VJest, and a flagpole for •xir school. Chairman of tha project committee is Marsha Armstrong and meift- bers of the committee are Fincher Jarrell and Ann Saunders. The convention committee will choose the talent act for the State Beta Club convention,which will be held in Ashville, April 5 and 6. Larry Saunders is chairman of the con vention committee, and members of the committee are Linda Saunders, Pat ricia McLoud, and Roger Sanders. Nancy Helen Bruton is chairman of the program committee, and members are Marion Dorsett and Ellen Highsmith. ■XHA, The F, H. A. Club spon sored a tea for the teach ers of West Montgomery. Students who are enrolled in home economics classes were also invited to attend. The club has been sell ing cakes during the basketball games and has also been working in the concession stand, MONOGRAM CLUB The Monogram Club mem bers have bought jackets and sweaters with the money which they received from the Homecoming game. They > have also sponsored two basketball games. LIBRARY CLUB The members of the Lib rary Club were unusually busy during January. On February 7, members attended a lecture on busi ness letter writing given by Professor A. Bernard Shelley of the English De partment of North Carolina State College, This was a feature of the Annual Sales Meeting program sponsored by Russell Hosiery Mills, Inc., of Star, N. C. Mem bers of the Business De partment of West Montgomery were invited to attend. The members of the F.
