On April 19, 1963, Juniors and Seniors of V/est Montgoinery spent an enchanted evening at the' annual Junior-Senior Prom, Upon entering the pym, one walked through an archway of roses before encountering; the receiving line, which included Mr, and Mrs, T.L. White; Pres, of the Senior Class, Johnny Harris, escorting Marion Dorsett; Pres, of the Junior Class , Sdfar Haywood, escorting Carolyn Wallace; Pres. of :he Student Council, Fincher Jarrell, escorting Marsha AriTTStrong, Ellen HigLsmith introduced the receiving line. The main floor was beautifully decorated in a springtime theme with colorful displays of flowers and butterflies throughout. Arranged attractively in the center of the gym was a huge pcrtrayal of a fountain. Butterflies suspended on thin wires represented the streams of water. The color was a striking array pf blue, turquoise, pink, and yellow. The base of the fountain was draped in ivy. Table arrangements consisted of pink candles, pink carnations, and pink nylon butterflies. The combo, which was from Asheboro, was seated on the stage against a backvTTound of butterfly and flower arrangements, These were mounted on a huge framework of white wood. To the right of the center, the attractive re freshment table was situa ted. A huge candle amidst pink carnations served as the center piece. The entire atmosphere was one of relaxed beauty and dignity. -J# J ® ^JZID Thursday, April 25 “L" Liz Dickens informed the parents of the various activities which have tak en place at West Montgom ery during the school year 1962-1963. Mr, Doolittle spoke briefly concerning the acconplishments made by the band this year and told of his plan to organ ize a senior high and jun ior high band in the near future. He urged the par ents and teachers to en courage students to t^ike part in band. Open house followed th'^ meeting and parents visit ed the classrooms. Officers elected for the school year 1963-1964 are as follows: president- Bob Levin, first vice- president- Everette Hoover second vice - president- Harold Long, treasurer - Mrs, Georgia Pridgen, sec retary- ^^rs.
