CLASS ORGANIZATION.
On Wednesday, November 5th, the
seventh grade organized a real class.
We elected officers as follows: Pi’esi-
dent, Max Burleson; Vice-President,
Henry Leonard; Secretary, Ehnina
Hearne; Treasurer, Hazel Truett.
We also chose class colors-purple
and lavender.
We now want this town and school
to look upon us as an organized class
who knows right from wrong and
always tries to do right,

A BIG LESSON.
On Wednesday, Oct. 29th, the sev
enth grade under Miss Stephenson’s
yeograpKv lesson
before Mr. Beam ard the grammar
g^rade teachers.
The lesson started with a drama
tization of the project on South Amer
ica—each part composed by that
particular character.
After a short map study and some
note book words conducted by Miss
Stephenson, a socialized recitation on
the British Isles was conducted by
Elmina Hearne.
My Thought.
To reach the port of heaven.
The Africans w3io have never know^n
of God can never reswh the port of
heaven. It makes me want to help
them. If they could be told they
would believe, for they know no God
at all. Tlien they could believe and
reach heaven.
(By Elmina Hearne,)
God did not make us to .play all
the time. He made us *to work as
well; to reach the port of heaven.
But we must sail and not drift, nor
be at anchor.

j had a battle Friday night. The class
I is going to call it the “Battle of
: Pumpkin Rind,” because it was with
rinds.
Elmina Hearne had a terrible ac
cident at the Hallowe’en party dpwn
a't Hearne Park Friday night when
while going down the sliding board
a part of her costume caught in the
board and tore the sash and a hole
in the dress.
This is a great moral lesson for
us to learn—that we must always do
our best and always keep on progress
ing; not stand still. Altho’ sometimes
in life we have hard tasks, we must
meet them and not give up if we wish
to reach our goal at last,

Friday night at the Hallowe’en party
at Hearne Park, when one of the boys
tlhrew a fire cracker at her feet.
The following pupils made 100 per
cent in spelling last month:
Hazel Truett, Pauline Helms, La-
nar Moss, Othor Miller, Claire Huney
cutt, Vera Snuggs, Hartsell Lee Lit
tle, Max Burleson, Mary Louise Pat
terson, Eleanor Mann, Aurelie Smith,

when we mention the lesson we hadi
the other day was 'the talk which j
miss Stephenson gave us. She saidj
that the heathen in other countries
“could not reach the port of heaven
unless we preach Christ to them, for
they know nothing of a true God.”

good music,

On October 16, Miss Margaret Os

rus the song “Ham and Eggs.” After
she taught it to us we sang it many
times. We were glad to know it.

HALLOWE’EN THRILLS.
Eleanor Mann went down to Hearne
Park Friday night and let her train
drag. All at once a young smart
Aleck took it up and sang “Tohen-
grins’ Wedding March.”
At the Hallowe’en party Friday
night a huge firecracker lit beside
Miss Stephenson. She jumped into
the air and lit in a hole in the ground
nearby, nearly spraining her ankle.
The severith grade is discussing the
plan of dramatizing some of the bat
tles of the Revolutionary War.
We are all looking forward to
it.
