May, 1965 THE DILLARD HI —NEWS Page Five C. A. Carter Gives Favorite Recipe For A Warm Day Carolyn Carter, a D. H. sen ior wants others to try a recipe that she “adores” for cooling on a warm summer day: Fill a chilled enamel, pottery or china pot a’creme or demi- tusse cup with your favorite ice cream or sherbert, with edge of spatula level off top. Then place in freezer for 30 minutes. With a number 20 ice-cream scoop, scoop up a ball of the same ice-cream or sherbert lay it firmly on top of filled cup from freezer; smooth any drips of soft ice-cream around cup rim. With tip of teaspoon, make a row of petal-like indentation, about 1/8 inch apart, all around base of ice-cream ball at cup rim. Then make a second row of indentions just above the first, alternating these petals. Repeat steps 1, 2, and 3 for as many Poises desired using all the same or several ice-cream or sherbert flavors.
