(Continued from page three) name of Meredith could never be dis associated from these noble souls who have labored long and untiringly In their efforts to make the dear old college what she is. The members of Class of '03 have drifted far and wide. In Japan the .'ancy of our dreams turn to one whom we knew as Maude Burke. In that far away land, she is known as Mrs. Dozier, where she is giving her besf to help save Japan. Every one is do ing her bit for the upbuilding of hu manity. One as a pastor's wife in the State—Knotokah Marshbanks as we know her—now Mrs. Martin, is prov ing herself a helpmate indeed. Cora Marshbanks, now Mrs. Privette of Edenton, is a wife and mother In the true sense of the word, always full of determination. We knew the pressure, my dear.” Miss Carroll (In English)—“I have weut. That’s wrong isn’t it?” P. Yarborough—“Yes.” Miss C.—“Why Is it wrong.” J. Yarborough—"Because you ain’t went yet. Miiry ’I',—I have never been in, I’m al'raid it's like swimming. 1 might get ilii'kt'd. Sorrows have overtaken some of our members—‘‘Hal” Williams suffered bereavement a few years ago in the death of her husband. That bright, cheerful disposition that made "Hal” popular has made her a "pal” to her boys and she finds great joy in their companionship. WTiat shall I say of the remaining members of the Class of ’03? I am sure all are filling their places in life. One could not fail who had ever abode within the sacred walls of this grand old institution. And so, our class though scattered yearn oft-times for “a touch of the vanished hand—and the sound of a voice that is still.” In the busy rush of the day amid the cares and per plexities that confront us. our hearts turn to Meredith, and in the quiet of the hour there rings the dear old words of “Alma Mater” t. lU CLUB MEETS FIllSX TIME OF ¥EA« Sl'XDAY NIGHT SKKVICE GIVKN BY Y.
