THK NEW REUNION PLAN Last commencement the Alumnae association voted to authorize the pres ident to appoint a committee with the power to act upon the new plan of holding reunions which was presented before the association during the bus iness meeting. This committee, com posed of Mrs. J. S. Farmer, Mrs. J. W. Bunn, and Miss Mary Martin Johnson, with tlie approval of the president, de cided it wise to accept the new scheme. is a modification of the Dix Plan which is used generally by many insti tutions, such as Cornell, Michigan, Vassar, Mt. Holyoke, and others, and which is designed to enable classes associated as undergraduates to hold reunions together. According to the plan at every reunion, each class will return with three other classes who were in school at the san\e time, so that in a period ol twenty years each class will have held a reunion with all of the six classes contemporary with it in college. This is advantageous, because of the small number who re turn for reunions and of the part that one's most intimate friends may be members of anotiier class. With this plan, reunions will occur every five years, except in the case of every fourth reunion, wlieu the interval will be four years. The plan may be illustrated by using ' the class of '19 as an example. By looliing at tlie chart it may be seen that, In 1925, '19 will hold a reunion with ’20, '21, and ’22, ('23 returns for us second year reunion). In 1930, '19 drops '22 and returns with '18, ■20, and '21. In 1935, '17 is added and '21 dropped, in 1940, '16 is added, while In 1944, '19 returns to the same group as in. 1925. The heavy lines under the classes signify the date of the twenty-fifth anniversary. With '19 this anniversary comes in regular order, but not so with all classes; for in stance '1C with that class, the twenty- fifth anniversary comes one year later than tlie time scheduled for It to hold its reunion, in such a case, it rests with the class to decide wliether to return in usual order on the twenty- fourth anniversary, or to wait a year later and celebrate tiie tvventy-lltltli. Naturally it will take a few years 10 get the new plan to running orderly, A fow changes in reunion years must naturally be made. The group select ed for 1925 was clioscn, because it would Include the largest number ol clHsses scheduled for an early reunion. 10 and '15 return this year according .0 the old plan, although 1920 is the reunion time for ’15 in the new scliedule. It is sincerely hoped that every member of the classes sciieduied to return this June will make speedy plans to do so, especially since this may be the last opportunity for reassem bling at the old Meredith. Other class es, not scheduled for reunion, are also ardently urged to return. '2?
