Wo’rc sorry, but it seems that all that-or-priictise is necessary in orler that the Senior Recitals may begin in a week or so. We ask you, goiitlo reader, did you ever ruin a pair of new blonde slippers on a board walk whose boards rose up and greeted you like a long lost friend? We agree that tliey-nieaiiing the walks-havc served their purpose, but now they have all the rigidity of Gilda Grey doing her daily dozen, and they catapult us along with all the graco and wild abandon of a kangaroo. Wc used to like those walks Avhen we first came, but they let us down, and that is something we never could stand. In fact, wo didn’t. Jn company with several others, we indulged in close comniutiion with Mother Earth. ‘•’J'hree-in*One,” presented by the Henior Class lust Saturday night was worth nlniost three times th(‘ adniis- si(jn -luirge(l. J3ut in order to give Inmoi' wluTO honor is due, we want to say, in behalf of the Seniors,! that the credit goes to Mr. Sherwood Brockwcll, who gave his time and' talent to coaeliing the minstrel. i Througii our column we wish to give the report of the Senior Matri monial Bureau for the Fall of the year ] 1)25-26. At present there are eiglit Seniors who own diamonds that mean more than a gift from Dad. There are fifteen Seniors who are wearing fraternity pins. Out of the twenty-three gentlemen thus represented, ten have attended or are attending State, six are Carolina men, and Wake Forest comes third with five on the list. Credit for the iinusjml success of the Bureau is due to summer schools, IB. Y. P. U., re ceptions, Fair day, ball games. Press Associations, aud the Cally. The fund for the shrubbery mounts up, and soon we will have signs saying “Don’t pick the flow ers,” and “Keep off the grass.” Isn’t it encouraging to think of Meredith’s future daughters picking a rose foi" her “date” from a bush purchased with your dollar, instead of saying, “For goodness’ sake, don’t bring all that mud in!” It has been suggested that the words ill our uow Meredith song that are “and we realize, just what we owe to you,” be amended to “what our Dad’s owe to you.” “In the spring, a young man’s fancy, lighty turns—” and the pity of it that it sometimes fails to KE-turu. So far Meredith has had no trou ble with the resignation of her athle tic coach. Neither will rival colleges be calling our Gym by harsh names. You sot‘, we expect to have our Gym classes in the nice now Society halls on the third floor. STUDENT OPINION How do you like New Mereditli? Tile students have been asked this question so many times since Christ mas, that we thought this an oppor tune way of telling all of our friends Just what we do think of our new country home. Why of course we are just delighted with our new surroundings. Just one of those glorious sunsets has fully repaid us for leaving the city. At last we are ideally situated, and the students have already started to do their part to complete the original plan. We are so glad that now we can really and truly enjoy the wonders of nature, and have room to Just grow and grow and grow. Donations from the alumns for the campus fund have begun to come in. Mrs. W. L. Gassaway has sent a check for $10. WANTED! Information about our under-gradu- ate alumna:. Send names and ad dresses to Miss Susie Herring, Mere dith College, Raleigh, N. C.
