Nevertheless Elon should be complimented tor the splendid game they played. Jessie Huff, a Meredith graduate of ‘2C was among llio week-end visitors here. She is teaching at Smithfleld this year. Elsie Elkins, the President o£ the Student Government 1926 was also a guest here this iveek-eud. As was her custom, Miss Welch en tertained the students and members of the faculty, Thursday evening, whoso birthdays canio la September. Every one enjoyed It immensely and the ice cream disappeared quickly. The student body received a treat Monday night, when Jos6 Mojica gave a concert in the High School Audi torium, Not only his well Icnown voice drew u crowd, but the pictures dis tributed in the dining room greatly in creased the attendance. A number of students spent the week end away from the College, and from all reports each one had a mar velous time. The Fall Festival was most success ful Saturday night and the new girls caught a glimpse of the true Meredith Spirit. “Kid Boots" at the State Saturday was attended by several Meredith girls. It was exceedingly clever and every one enjoyed it immensely. Miss Louise Craven entertained her “little sisters” at a dinner party at the Mere Mont Tea Shoppe Wednesday evening at six o’clock. Such Miss Ruth L«ary, ’27. is spending this year at her home in Morehead City, N. C. Miss Lucille Jones of the class of ’27 was a visitor at the college last week end. Miss Jeneva Benthall, '27 Is teach ing at Whlteville, N. C. an article would be thorouglily en joyed by tlie present student body, and at the same time would express to the college and to Miss Jillen Hruiier, alumnae correspondent, any gratitude they might feel for this organized eft'ort toward keeping in touch with the Meredith graduates.
