CLASS DOING SUNSHINE WORK VISIT OLI» LADIES’ HOME AND I'LAX I’O DO DEFINITE WORK TIIANKS«1VING The members -of Miss Mary Lynch Johnson’s Sunday school class of the First Baptist church, which Is com posed of Juniors and Seniors from Meredith and Peace colleges, are manifesting much interest in Sun shine work. On the fourth Sunday afternoon of last month a number of the members visited the Old Ladies Home bringing to these duar old ladies a program which cheered them and made them feel several years younger. Th6 girls went away looking forward to the time when they might again visit that home. At present the class is planning to do definite work during the Thanks giving holidays. A largo basket of fruits, nuts, and candies will be taken to a needy family and many useful articles will be distributed among those in need.. P. U. work, a contest between the unions was begun. At the end of every six weeks, a silver loving cup was pre sented to the union making the highest per cont, measured by the eight point record system and including, in addi tion. points for reading the Biblieal Re corder. The Pearl Johnson B. Y. P. U.. by earnest effort, won and kept the loving cup during the entire year, until the last six weeks. Meanwhile, the otiier unions were giving her a close race and at the end of these' last six weeks, Alda Grayson had surpassed all other unions in records, Accordingly, Pearl Johnson surrendered her claim to the cnp to Alda Grayson. This year the contest, by reason of its success last year, was continued.
