To Students and Alumnae of Meredilh College—Christmas Greetings:
Alma Mater is sending to you through me best wishes for a Merry Chrislmas and a Happy
New Year. You are always in our thoughts in these joyous seasons—never more so than
now. There is a new tie that Ijinds us, a new task that engages our atlention and efforts,
a new hope that inspires us. The campaign in preparation for the celebration of the Cen
tennial of_ the organization of our Baptist State Convention is of vital interest, and all are
aiding in loyal fashion in its promotion. Let us not forget the intimate connection be
tween this'iinterprise and the One whose birthday we celebrate. Meredith College is a
Christian institution. It was founded and is fostered lor the purpose of hastening the com
ing of the reign of Jesus Christ over all the earth.
And so, in the midst of our great movement we are wishing for each of you every happi-i
ness at Cliristmastide and the realization of yoin* fondest itieal in life.

Meredith Is Indeed fortunate to have
a representative in Katherine MaiTtlry,
Prcbldeni of Student Government As
sociation at Merelith. She is capable,
as well as charming, and we are sure
that no one could get more from the
(Jonferenee than she.
Kalherine left Sunday morning, go
ing by Way o£ Greensboro, where
Ai-loen Safrlt of Oreensboro College
and Francos Gibson of N. C. C. \V.
were to join her. They had a private
drawing roam for the trip, which was
u northern route, going by Cinclnnatti
and Chicago, where they were to stop j
off cue day. j
The meeting is held to discuss stu-;
dent problems and compare situations
in various parts of the country. It is
indeed most henellcial and we are anx
iously awaiting Katherine’s return to
hear an account of the trip.

necktie, a mustache or a hat and
doesn’t smoko a pipe, it is probably a
