Dinmg Room Scholarships
Those who are regular boai’d-
ing students have hccoine favoi-
bly impressed witli thi.s new
system in the dijiiiig room that
of all students eating together
in the JIain dining room witli
certain of the students them
selves acting as waitresses. 'J'lic
system of allowing students to
sccure dining room scholarships
was begun last year on a small
scale. Tins year it is on a much
larger scale because of the dis
continuance of the chib. While
the club served a place w!>ich
was entirely essential in the early
days of tiie college, the time came
when it could no longer “fit in”
exactly. In its place the college
has given to those M'ishing and
deserving them, dining room
sc'holarshi})s.
'J’be girls who have these
sch(jlarships »ij-e almost so%'cnty-
five in number. 'J'ltey work in
tliree sliifts, one for In-eakfast,
one f(jr luncli, and anotlier for
the evening meal. This system
is proving highly satisfactory to
Miss Welch, dietitian, and to the
students themselves.
In order that the organization
may be as efficient as jiossible, a
student assistant to the dietitian
has been appointed. Annie Keith
is proving very competent in this
position. Proctors in the dining
