While aomo of the chapera did not function this siunmev, others, taking advantage of havfng present those alumnae who were home on their vacations, held enthusiastic meetings. The activities of all chapters and many individual alumnae iacliulod the collecting of Octaffon Ooiipona. Rumors and communications have come to the alumnae dflice of coupon parties aud showers. The Scotland Neck Chapter even went so-far as'to stage a real “Octagon Convention" modeled some- wliat after the Democratic National Convention. Wo hope to publish de tailed accounts of these activities in a forthcoming issue. As for the status of the Octagon Campaign—150,000 coupons have been sent In to Colgate & Co.' $500, you re member,’ was received from them at commencement for the first 100,000; and $250 will be received in a few days for the ai^ditional oO.OOO. We are extremely grateful fo rthe 20,000 cou pons which were sent in during the summer. If we are to collect our m.illion by December 31, we’ll have to use more of the coupon bearing products our selves in addition to getting all our friends to do likewise. We should Itke to send the makers of Octagon soap anothei' package of 50,000 coupons the last of September. So, every alumna, please mail to the alumnae office Just as many coupons as you possibly can by the end of the month.
