Church Relotionship Day
Chnrcli Relationship day will be held
Sunday, October S. At this time, each
girl is supposed to Join the church of
her choice. The B. S. U. strongly en
courages every girl to place her church
letter in her college church. The
reason, for this la based on the last
point in the Baptist Church Covenant.
ThlB point is: "Wo moreover cn;;ago,
that when we remove from this place,
we will as soon as possible unite with
some other church, where we can
carry out the spirit of this covenant
and the principles of God's word.”
Senior Class Chooses
Superlatives for Annual
The “Senior Superlatives" were
elected Thursday evening. Septemljer,
28. The superlatives are the girls
chosen by tlielr clasnmatea as the most
outstanding girls of the clays, and
their pictures will be in the tenture
section of the Oak Leaves.
Those chosen were: Virginia
Garnett, Miss Meredith; Gwendolyn
Crowder, Beauty; GrEice Carr, Style;
Katherine Davis. Sport; Marry Bess
Van Landliisham, Cute: Evelyn Barker,
Intellect; Eliza Briggs, Originality;
Ruth Byrd, Best All-'round town
student.

Friday morning, September 29, Vara
Lee Thornton, treasurer of the B. S. U.,
presented the B. S. U. budget for the
year. The budget is ?r)37. Vara Lee
reports that lii checking over the
pledges she llnds that most of the
girls responded very favorably.

Treosure Hunt
All girla who had birthdays in
September were entertained by the
B. S. U. at a Treasure Hunt Friday
night, September 29. Ella Lee Yates
and Sarah Lib Vernon led the Treasure
Hunt, at the end of which punch ami
cakes were served on the dining
room steps.

The College Choir has started Ha re
hearsals for the Christmas Music, Pro
fessor Spelman, director of the Choir,
saya that he Is planning for this year's
program to be one of the loveliest

Sunday night, October 1, the eight
Y. W, A. Circles met for the llrst lime
this year. The topic discussed was
"Seed-time and Harvest in South
America.” Several Intercsling stories
of the conversions of the South Ameri
can people were tnld. At the close
oI the program each girl placed her
contribution to Takami San in the Mite
Box. Following tlie program, tea was
given In the Senior Parlor and many
Japanese curios were on display.

Reported Better
John Freeman, who has been In the
ho»pltat seriously ill, is recovering.
About live weeks ago John cut hia foot
on a bottle, and he developed tetanus.
He was given the treatment Imiiiedltite-
ly and the doctors are confident that
he will recover.
